We're recruiting for a Finance Officer to join a well-established and innovative business based in a unique rural location near Ross-on-Wye. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you'll work across all aspects of the finance function while gaining exposure to management reporting, forecasting and business decision-making.

The Role

\n

As Assistant Accountant, you'll support the day-to-day running of the finance function and work closely with the Accounts Assistant, wider business teams and external accountants.

\n

Key responsibilities will include:

    \n
  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports
  • \n
  • Supporting month-end processes and performance reporting
  • \n
  • Overseeing sales and purchase ledger activities
  • \n
  • Managing payment runs and bank reconciliations
  • \n
  • Assisting with cash flow monitoring and credit control
  • \n
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns
  • \n
  • Supporting payroll processing
  • \n
  • Assisting with budgeting and forecasting activities
  • \n
  • Ensuring strong financial controls and accurate financial records
  • \n
  • Supporting ongoing improvements to processes, systems and reporting tools
  • \n

About You

\n

We're keen to speak with candidates who have:

\n
    \n
  • AAT Level 3 or 4
  • \n
  • Previous experience in a similar finance role
  • \n
  • Experience with reconciliations, month-end processes and financial reporting
  • \n
  • Strong Excel and systems skills, with the confidence to learn new ERP and reporting platforms
  • \n
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • \n
  • A proactive and positive approach to problem-solving
  • \n
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments
  • \n
