Operations Director - Engineering

3 Point Recruitment are hiring an Operations Director for a rapidly growing Engineering business based near Beaconsfield. This role is suited to an experienced Operations Director who wants to join a growing, ambitious business with excellent roots, lead by forward thinking leaders.

This is a strategic and hands on Operations Director role, to lead all UK operational activities, ensuring safe efficient and profitable delivery of services. This role suits a proven operational leader with experience managing multi site teams, service delivery, projects, supply chain performance and operational governance. You will be leading a team of 3 Line Managers, each of which have 20 staff reporting into them & a further 24 Engineers too.

Working closely with Senior Leadership, the Operations Director will translate group strategy into effective execution, drive operational excellence, strengthen customer satisfaction and embed consistent standards across the organisation. As the business expands across Europe, this role will also contribute to group wide operational frameworks, best practice and integration activity.

Operational Leadership

• Lead high-performing operational teams, fostering accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement

• Oversee all operational functions including projects, service contracts and maintenance delivery
\n
• Ensure safe, on time, on budget & high quality service execution
\n
• Drive efficiency, productivity and service quality through strong processes and performance management
\n
• Oversee workforce planning, resource utilisation, supply chain performance and subcontractor management
\n
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, regulatory requirements and appropriate insurance coverage
\n
• Develop and monitor operational KPIs to drive performance and accountability
\n

Business & Financial Performance

• Manage operational performance against budgets, financial targets and business objectives
\n
• Analyse contract profitability, margins and project outcomes to support decision making
\n
• Identify opportunities to improve profitability through efficiency, cost control and resource optimisation.

• Lead operational contract negotiations with clients, suppliers and subcontractors
\n
• Support forecasting, budgeting and business planning alongside commercial leadership
\n

Group Collaboration

\n
• Align UK operations with wider group priorities and strategic objectives
\n
• Contribute to group-wide operational standards, governance frameworks and best practices
\n
• Share operational expertise to support consistent ways of working across multiple countries
\n
• Support operational due diligence, integration planning and implementation for acquisitions
