Job Description
Location: Central LondonSalary: £45,000 - £65,000
\nAn exciting opportunity has become available for a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join a growing and highly technical engineering consultancy based in Central London. This role offers the chance to take a leading role within the geotechnical team, delivering innovative design solutions across a diverse portfolio of complex projects.
\nThe successful candidate will have strong technical expertise in geotechnical design and a proven ability to lead projects, mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continued growth and development of the team.
The Role\nAs a Principal Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and delivering a range of geotechnical design projects across the built environment and infrastructure sectors. You will work closely with clients, multidisciplinary teams and internal engineers to provide high-quality, practical engineering solutions.
\nKey responsibilities include:

- Leading geotechnical design projects from concept through to delivery \n
- Providing technical input across foundation design, retaining structures, earthworks and ground improvement schemes \n
- Undertaking and reviewing geotechnical calculations, assessments and reports \n
- Managing client relationships and supporting business development activities \n
- Mentoring and supporting junior and graduate engineers \n
- Reviewing technical work to ensure quality and compliance with industry standards \n
- Collaborating with structural, civil and other engineering disciplines \n
- Contributing to innovative engineering solutions for complex ground conditions \n
- Supporting the continued growth and development of the geotechnical team \n
- \n
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology or a related discipline \n
- Significant experience within geotechnical consultancy \n
- Strong background in geotechnical design and analysis \n
- Experience with foundation design, retaining walls, slope stability and ground improvement \n
- Ability to manage projects and communicate effectively with clients \n
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers \n
- Chartered status with a relevant professional body (or working towards chartership) \n
- Excellent technical report writing and communication skills \n
