The Opportunity Are you an experienced Housing Officer, Independent Living Officer or Scheme Manager looking for your next opportunity? We're recruiting for an Assistant Housing Support Officer to support the management of several independent living schemes across the Bordon area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with housing management experience who enjoys building relationships with residents while ensuring schemes remain safe, compliant and well maintained.You'll provide a high-quality housing management service across a portfolio of independent living schemes. This is not a personal care role. Instead, you'll focus on tenancy support, resident wellbeing, building compliance, contractor coordination and ensuring residents can continue living independently within a safe environment. Initially offered as a 3-month temporary assignment, there is potential for an extension should business needs continue.Key Responsibilities\n

  • Act as the first point of contact for residents, providing tenancy and housing management support.
  • \n
  • Carry out regular wellbeing contacts and identify when additional support or external referrals may be required.
  • \n
  • Support tenancy sustainment, customer inductions, property viewings and void management.
  • \n
  • Conduct routine health & safety inspections, fire safety checks, Legionella monitoring and risk assessments.
  • \n
  • Ensure communal areas remain safe, compliant and well maintained.
  • \n
  • Coordinate contractors, monitor repairs and ensure works are completed to a high standard.
  • \n
  • Respond appropriately to emergency social alarm activations and resident welfare concerns.
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all compliance documentation is completed promptly.
  • \n
  • Promote resident engagement and support community activities across schemes.
  • \n
  • Travel between multiple independent living schemes within the local area.
  • \n
About You You'll ideally have experience working within a housing association, local authority or supported housing environment and understand the importance of balancing excellent customer service with regulatory compliance.We're particularly interested in candidates with experience as:\n

We'll also consider applicants from facilities management, supported housing or care settings who have strong experience in compliance, building management and resident wellbeing.You'll bring:\n

  • Experience within housing management or a similar customer-focused housing environment.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of housing compliance, repairs, health & safety and risk management.
  • \n
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • \n
  • Confidence using IT systems to maintain accurate records.
  • \n
  • The ability to manage your own workload and work independently across multiple sites.
  • \n
  • Excellent communication skills with a calm, professional and empathetic approach.
  • \n
Essential Requirements\n

  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
  • \n
  • Ability to travel between schemes located within approximately 20 minutes of Bordon.
  • \n
  • Immediate availability (this role cannot accommodate a notice period).
  • \n
  • Willingness to work independently and provide occasional out-of-hours support in emergency situations.
  • \n
  • Enhanced DBS check.
