General Practice Director

An established and highly respected independent accountancy and business advisory firm in the North West is seeking an experienced General Practice Director to join its leadership team in Manchester.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping client relationships, identifying commercial opportunities, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional accounting, tax and business advisory services to a diverse SME and owner-managed business client base.

Description

Reporting directly to the Partners, the General Practice Director will be responsible for:

• Leading and developing a substantial portfolio of clients across a variety of sectors.
\n
• Providing strategic business, accounting and tax advice to owner-managed businesses and entrepreneurs.
\n
• Managing and mentoring senior managers and departmental teams.
\n
• Driving business development activity and generating new revenue opportunities.
\n
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
\n
• Identifying opportunities for cross-selling and advisory services.
\n
• Ensuring the highest standards of technical compliance and client service delivery.
\n
• Contributing to the firm's strategic planning, operational performance and future growth initiatives.
\n
• Supporting succession planning and leadership development across the practice.
\n

Profile

We are looking for an ambitious and commercially minded leader with:

• ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification.
\n
• Significant experience within a UK accountancy practice environment.
\n
• Proven success managing a portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients.
\n
• Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
\n
• Demonstrable business development and networking experience.
\n
• Excellent commercial awareness and relationship-building skills.
\n
• A track record of delivering both technical excellence and outstanding client service.
\n
• The ability to inspire, influence and drive performance across teams.
\n

Previous experience at Director level is desirable; however, exceptional Senior Managers or Associate Directors ready to step into a leadership role will also be considered.
