Stores Coordinator\n

Salary: £27,000 - £33,000 per annumJob Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role\n

We are recruiting for a proactive and organised Stores Coordinator to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in stores, warehouse, or inventory control who enjoys working in a fast-paced, technical environment.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the stores department, ensuring inventory is accurately controlled and materials are available to support production and operational requirements.

Key ResponsibilitiesInventory Management\n
    \n
  • Receive, inspect and book in deliveries.
  • \n
  • Label, store and organise stock accurately.
  • \n
  • Maintain inventory records using the company's stock control system.
  • \n
  • Carry out regular stock checks and annual stocktakes.
  • \n
  • Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies.
  • \n
  • Monitor inventory levels and report shortages.
  • \n
Goods In & Goods Out\n
    \n
  • Process incoming and outgoing deliveries.
  • \n
  • Prepare parts and materials for internal departments and external customers.
  • \n
  • Ensure all goods are packed and labelled correctly.
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate delivery and collection records.
  • \n
  • Liaise with couriers and transport providers.
  • \n
Stores Operations\n
    \n
  • Issue parts, tools and consumables to colleagues.
  • \n
  • Process returned items back into stock.
  • \n
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised stores environment.
  • \n
  • Optimise storage locations and warehouse space.
  • \n
  • Handle valuable engineering components with care.
  • \n
Operational Support\n
    \n
  • Prepare equipment and materials for production and project requirements.
  • \n
  • Assist with equipment preparation and returns.
  • \n
  • Ensure required stock is available to meet operational deadlines.
  • \n
Purchasing & Stock Control\n
    \n
  • Raise replenishment requests when stock reaches minimum levels.
  • \n
  • Support Goods Received Note (GRN) processes.
  • \n
  • Work closely with the Purchasing team to resolve delivery issues.
  • \n
Compliance\n
    \n
  • Follow Health & Safety procedures at all times.
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate documentation and stock traceability.
  • \n
  • Support internal audits and quality procedures.
  • \n
  • Ensure regulated materials are stored correctly where applicable.
  • \n
About YouEssential\n
    \n
  • Previous experience within a stores, warehouse or inventory role.
  • \n
  • Experience using stock control or ERP systems.
  • \n
  • Good understanding of inventory management principles.
  • \n
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel.
  • \n
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • \n
  • Ability to work effectively in a busy environment.
  • \n
Desirable\n
    \n
  • Experience within engineering, manufacturing or automotive environments.
  • \n
  • Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain one).
  • \n
  • Experience using barcode scanning systems.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of engineering components and tooling.
  • \n
  • Experience preparing freight or shipments.
  • \n

Qualifications\n

Essential

  • GCSEs (or equivalent), including Maths and English.

  • Qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, Warehouse Management or Engineering.
  • \n
  • Forklift certification.
  • \n

  • Warehouse and workshop environment.

  • Manual handling of parts and equipment.

  • Standing and walking for extended periods.
  • \n
