This hands-on role is ideal for someone with experience in materials handling, stock movement, and outdoor working environments who is looking for a long-term career opportunity.Working as part of a wider operations team, you will play a key role in ensuring goods are received, stored, and dispatched efficiently while maintaining high standards of safety and organisation across the site.The Role As a Yard Operative, your day-to-day duties will include:Receiving incoming deliveries and preparing outgoing shipmentsOperating a Forklift Truck (FLT) to transport materials across the siteCarrying out goods-in checks and ensuring stock records remain accurateOrganising products and materials within designated storage locationsSupporting inventory counts and stock monitoring activitiesMaintaining tidy, safe, and efficient working areasAssisting other departments during busy periods where requiredCarrying out general site duties and manual handling tasksIdentifying and reporting any damaged stock, equipment issues, or safety concernsWorking in line with company procedures and health and safety guidelinesWhat We're Looking For Essential Requirements Valid Forklift Truck (FLT) licencePrevious experience in a warehouse, yard, distribution, manufacturing, or similar environmentStrong awareness of workplace health and safety standardsAbility to work effectively both independently and within a teamGood communication and organisational skillsComfortable performing physical duties, including lifting and moving materialsDependable, punctual, and committed to delivering high standardsDesirable Experience working within an engineering or manufacturing settingGCSEs or equivalent qualificationsPersonal Profile The successful candidate will be:Safety-focused and proactiveAdaptable and willing to assist across different areas of the businessWell-organised with good attention to detailPositive in their approach and able to work in a fast-moving environmentEager to learn new skills and contribute to team successWhat's in It for You?
