Our organization is in search of a Board Eligible/Board Certified Critical Care Physician to become part of a well-established and high-achieving team as a Nocturnist. This position provides a chance to work in a collaborative setting with strong specialty support while delivering advanced, patient-focused care within an expanding healthcare system.
Job Opportunity Overview- Become a member of a close-knit group consisting of 14 Physicians and 12 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
- Work on a 7/7 schedule from 7 PM to 7 AM.
- No outpatient clinic duties required.
- Access to 24/7 APP support.
- Main location: MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center with 67 ICU/CCU beds.
- Secondary location: MercyOne West Des Moines Medical Center with 7 ICU beds.

- Act as a Regional Referral Hub: Provide care to a diverse tertiary service area serving 1.5 million residents across central Iowa.
- Work in an Advanced Clinical Environment: Engage within a highly specialized system that includes a Neuro Trauma ICU and a closed ICU model aimed at delivering high-quality, team-oriented care.
- Utilize Cutting-Edge Technology: Gain access to O-arm imaging, bi-plane suites, minimally invasive techniques, multiple navigation stations, ECMO, and ECPR.
- Certified Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center: Work in a facility recognized for its advanced stroke care capabilities.
- Base Salary: $578,340.
- Recruitment bonus: $75,000.
- Relocation assistance up to $15,000.
- Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) allowance: $6,000.
- Malpractice insurance with tail coverage included.
