Neurohospitalist

Our organization is a physician-led multi-specialty group with over 650 providers, currently in search of a full-time BC/BE Neurologist who is dedicated to a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to patient care. This position focuses on inpatient consultative services, specifically for stroke and general neurology patients at our Time Sensitive Emergency Level 2 (Primary) Stroke Center located in Nampa. This facility is part of a comprehensive system-wide program based at our Boise location. The Nampa hospital, which is a high-acuity community hospital with 106 beds (set to expand to 224), currently manages an average of 11 strokes and 30-35 DRGs monthly. The Neurohospitalist will collaborate closely with Intensivists, Hospitalists, and Emergency physicians. Additionally, the Nampa facility is designated as a Level III Trauma Center, recognized for its Time Sensitive Emergency classifications in Stroke, Cardiology, and Trauma. Neurologists have access to various diagnostic and patient care services, including EMG capabilities both in the clinic and hospital, EEG with web-based interpretation, TCD, and Botox injections.

Collaboration and Support: The Neuroscience Institute fosters teamwork among a diverse group of specialists, including neurosurgeons, neurologists, vascular neurologists, neuroradiologists, neuropathologists, neuro-otolaryngologists, physiatrists, a neuro-ophthalmologist, and oncologists, all based at the Boise campus. Boise is recognized as a State Comprehensive Stroke Center, while Nampa holds a Primary Stroke designation. The work schedule for this role involves a 5-day work week in the hospital, with shifts from 7 am to 4 pm. Stroke call will occur during regular shift hours, with no weekend or night call required.

Support Services: Our well-established neurology outpatient clinic and inpatient neurology program in Boise provide robust support. Tele-stroke services are staffed by vascular neurologists and stroke coordinators, alongside interventional neuroradiology and endovascular neurosurgeon services, which include biplane angiography, MRI/MRA, CT/CTA, CT perfusion, 4-vessel angiography, and interventional procedures for stroke and aneurysms. The Nampa facility utilizes Boise SARMC for triage and advanced services.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
• Completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited residency training program in Neurology
• Fellowship in Neurohospitalist Stroke, Neurovascular, or a related field is advantageous
• Board certification or the ability to obtain certification within three years of employment
• Eligibility for Idaho medical licensure and privileges at our organization and affiliated hospitals as required
• Valid registration for controlled substances with the Board of Pharmacy and DEA
