Our organization is currently in search of a Board Eligible/Board Certified Cardiologist with a specialization in Cardiac Electrophysiology to become a part of our dynamic team at the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, situated in Mishawaka, Indiana. The ideal candidate will prioritize clinical excellence, possess expertise in electrophysiology procedures, and demonstrate a commitment to patient satisfaction. Exceptional interpersonal skills are essential, along with a desire to foster strong relationships within the community and among existing medical staff. The physician will collaborate effectively with all team members in our Cardiology service line to ensure the highest standards of patient care.

  • Enjoy an employed position through our health system at Midwest Cardiology, where physician autonomy is encouraged, allowing for independent decision-making regarding policies and recruitment.
  • Access to a state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization lab and electrophysiology labs located on the same floor, just a minute's walk from the clinic.
  • Utilize a hybrid lab designed for structural heart procedures.
  • Receive support from senior cardiologists, including those involved in the interventional cardiology program.
  • Participate in an active cardio-thoracic program with 24/7 coverage available for your procedures.
  • Clinic hours: Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a general cardiology call rotation of 1:6.
  • Average outpatient clinic volume: 18 to 20 patients daily.
  • Excellent electrophysiology volume, joining a collegial team with a substantial patient base that refers exclusively to in-house electrophysiologists.
  • Support from nurse practitioners for both inpatient and outpatient care.
  • Additional nursing and medical assistant support available at the clinic.
  • Access to advanced labs, including:
    • Biosense Webster Cartosound Mapping system integrated with a GE recording system, enabling cryoballoon ablations.
PROCEDURES:
  • Permanent Pacemaker implants.
  • Pacemaker Lead extractions (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Leadless Pacemaker implants.
  • ICD & CRT-D implants.
  • Ablations for Atrial Fibrillation, Atrial Flutter, SVT, and VT Cryoablation.
  • Convergent procedures in partnership with cardiovascular surgeons.
  • Structural Heart Procedures:
    • Opportunity to participate in the active Watchman left atrial appendage closure in collaboration with structural heart interventional cardiologists.
