Job Description
Embark on a rewarding journey as a paraprofessional supporting students with significant needs in a dynamic educational environment. This contract role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference at a specialized Setting 4 site, working with learners who receive Special Education services throughout their entire school day. The assignment runs from September 2026 through June 2027, with a consistent weekday schedule of 32.5 hours per week.
Key Qualifications:
- Meet Highly Qualified Paraprofessional criteria: either a passing score on the MN Board Highly Qualified Para Exam (Para Educator Exam), or completion of at least 60 college credits (transcripts required—diplomas or degrees alone do not suffice)
- Experience or strong interest in working with students exhibiting high-intensity behaviors and severe disabilities
- Willingness and physical ability to assist with toileting and personal care for students
- Flexibility to serve elementary through high school ages, with ability to specify an age preference if desired
- A current resume and appropriate highly qualified documentation must be submitted for consideration
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to students with intensive needs across a range of ages and grade levels
- Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff at the site to deliver individualized educational and behavioral programming
- Support students’ daily routines, including academic instruction, daily living skills, and behavior interventions, in a highly structured setting
- Assist with toileting, personal care, mobility, and safety protocols as needed
- Help foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for all learners
This contract position offers a pay rate of $20 per hour. After 422 hours of service, the district may offer direct employment, recognizing excellent paraprofessionals for their valuable impact.
