Nocturnist Hospitalist Opportunity
Job Description
Our organization is a physician-led multispecialty group with over 650 providers, presenting an exciting opportunity for a Hospitalist to become part of our expanding team in Boise, Idaho. You will collaborate with 32 physicians and 12 advanced practice providers in delivering high-acuity medical services at a 381-bed regional medical facility.
- Full-time position with 152 night shifts annually
- 7 days on, 7 days off, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM
- No on-call responsibilities
- Participation in resident education is expected
The typical patient demographic consists of 40% adults and 60% seniors, with hospitalists managing cases such as congestive heart failure, pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pancreatitis, strokes, neurological disorders, geriatric fractures, and various other general medical issues. Daily rounding generally includes 14-18 patient interactions, while nocturnists typically handle 6-8 admissions each night.
As the leading provider of advanced, innovative, and interdisciplinary critical care services in the region, we seek candidates who are dedicated to a collaborative team approach. Additionally, we are the only ACS verified Level II Trauma Center in the area. Hospitalists serve as the primary admitting service for most primary care providers within our network.
The ideal applicant will possess a robust background in internal medicine or family medicine, complemented by hospitalist training, and a commitment to developing a practice that supports a growing multispecialty medical group.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
- Completion of an ACGME accredited Internal Medicine residency program; family medicine residency with hospitalist training will also be considered
- Board certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM) - or the ability to obtain such certification within three years of employment
- Must secure Idaho medical licensure for comprehensive medical practice; valid controlled substance registration with Idaho Boards of Pharmacy & DEA is required
- Approval for privileges at our regional medical center
