Kforce's client, one of NYC's most respected Real Estate owner/developer/managers, is seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized, versatile Family Office Associate to handle a diverse array of investments. Summary: The investment portfolio is comprised of passive (ETFs) and actively managed securities, hedge funds, private equity, equity co-investments, direct lending positions, derivatives, lines of credit, etc. (As a family-owned entity, they are highly focused on income and estate tax planning issues). To maximize tax efficiency, the real estate and non-real estate portfolios are owned via a mix of holding partnerships, individuals, corporations, revocable and non-revocable trusts, private family foundations, etc. Responsibilities will include: Reconciliation of monthly securities accounts (~80-100 separate accounts across 8 custodians) Accounting for monthly capital calls and distributions from 150+ limited partnership interests Cost basis tracking and reconciliation of securities transfers between accounts Improving accounting, banking and control systems Interfacing with banking and asset custodian partners Family partnership entity accounting and workpaper preparation Assisting with coordination of data submissions, review, and processing of 100+ tax returns annually Preparation of annual tax projections, from the entity level through flow-through entities to the ultimate tax-paying individuals and/or trusts Creating and maintaining long-term tax projections for visibility into future liabilities and timing of tax benefits across portfolio segments Creating and maintaining an estate tax planning model Requirements: CPA with 5+ years of progressive related public and/or private accounting and analysis experience Strong Excel and analytical skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Exposure to investment and tax related issue The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future. We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave. Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable.
