Join a physician-led multi-specialty group comprising over 650 providers, dedicated to a collaborative approach in patient care. This vibrant and expanding practice operates within a robust two-hospital ICU framework, catering to a wide range of complex, critically ill patients at the tertiary care facility in Boise and the nearby medical center in Nampa, just a short 20-minute drive away. The Boise center stands as the primary provider of advanced, innovative, and interdisciplinary critical care services in the region.
Position Overview: Candidates should possess a solid foundation in internal medicine and critical care, complemented by fellowship training. A genuine enthusiasm for working in a high-acuity ICU environment is essential, as the role involves managing the care of complex, critically ill inpatients. Collaboration with an adult hospitalist medicine team and other specialists, along with occasional robotic telemedicine consultations, is also part of the responsibilities. The position entails 161 ICU shifts annually, which will include a mix of day and night shifts. Coverage in the ICU is shift-based and does not involve traditional on-call duties.
Support Facilities: The Boise medical center features a 22-bed Med/Surg ICU, a 10-bed cardiac ICU, and a 10-bed Cardiovascular/Thoracic ICU, offering services such as Trauma, Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery, Neurosurgery, Interventional Cardiology, stroke care, Oncology, and General Surgery, among others. The Nampa facility includes an 18-bed ICU, equipped to perform all standard ICU procedures.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.
- Completion of an accredited ACGME/AOA Internal Medicine residency and Critical Care fellowship.
- Board certification or the ability to achieve certification within three years of employment.
- Eligibility for Idaho and Oregon medical licenses, along with privileges at the Boise and Nampa centers and other affiliated hospitals as necessary; valid controlled substance registration with the Board of Pharmacy and DEA is required.
