General Surgery - Surgicalist - Physician - Syracuse, NY

Our organization, a prominent healthcare provider in Central New York, is on the lookout for a Surgicalist Physician to become part of our vibrant and supportive team in Syracuse. This role is dedicated solely to emergency and acute surgical care within a hospital environment, providing a rewarding and engaging medical practice in a collaborative setting. You will have the flexibility to concentrate exclusively on inpatient surgical care or opt to include outpatient clinic hours in your schedule to maintain continuity with select patients. SCHEDULE

• 3 weeks per month - 5 ten-hour days per week (Monday to Friday)
• A total of 180 weekday shifts annually
• 2 weekend days each month - 24 shifts per year

PRACTICE ENVIRONMENT

• Collaborate with a dedicated and high-performing care team
• The Surgicalist will be supported by an experienced group of surgical PAs who assist in the operating room and play a crucial role in managing patient care and floor rounding.
• This is a hospital-based position with no clinic responsibilities, though there is an option to take on clinic hours if desired.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Possession of an active medical license in New York State and DEA registration
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery

RECRUITMENT PACKAGE

Our organization offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, which includes:

• Base Salary: $290,000 - $315,000 per year
• The stated salary represents the initial range of total compensation and does not encompass productivity bonuses, quality and performance incentives, extra shift bonuses, and other forms of cash compensation relevant to the role. Additionally, providers typically receive a CME allowance and other benefits provided by their medical group employer. Please be aware that this salary range is in accordance with State law and may vary based on the aforementioned factors.
• Quality Bonus: Up to $25,000
• Potential for Additional Compensation:
  • $1,750 for each extra Surgicalist shift
  • $750 for each 14-hour weekday overnight shift (Monday to Friday)
  • $1,200 for each 24-hour weekend shift (Saturday to Sunday)
  • $1,200 for each 24-hour holiday shift
• CME time and an annual expense allowance of $4,500
• Loan Repayment: Our institution qualifies as an eligible employer for the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program.
