Position Overview

The Level 2 Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring that the property is kept in excellent condition at all times, minimizing disruptions for both guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Repair hotel air conditioning systems, including changing filters, cleaning coils, and replacing motors.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on all equipment, such as boilers, chillers, HVAC systems, and electrical systems.
  • Take necessary readings on equipment.
  • Test cooling towers and document readings.
  • Replace and program televisions as required.
  • Change light switches, receptacles, bulbs, and fixtures.
  • Perform furniture repairs.
  • Replace and repair pumps.
  • Handle plumbing repairs, including clogged drains and changing washers and handles.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams.
  • Trace and repair various water lines.
  • Troubleshoot and fix kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain records of repairs and preventive maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes.
  • Test, clean, and repair swimming pools and spas.
  • Paint designated areas as needed.
  • Repair and finish drywall.
  • Fix various wall coverings.
  • Repair and program the hotel’s electronic lock system.
  • Assist in supervising other engineering staff.
  • Help schedule preventive maintenance tasks.
Compensation

Hourly pay ranges from $22.00 to $24.00.

Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with at least one year of experience in a hotel or related field.
  • Preferred candidates will have a minimum of two years of progressive experience in a hotel or similar environment.
  • Trade school or college coursework in a related field is advantageous.
  • Flexibility in working hours is sometimes necessary.
  • This role involves heavy lifting, requiring the ability to exert over 100 pounds occasionally, over 50 pounds frequently, and over 20 pounds constantly.
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with employees and guests in a courteous and service-oriented manner.
  • Ability to listen, understand, and clarify concerns raised by employees and guests is crucial.
  • Must be capable of multitasking and prioritizing departmental functions to meet deadlines.
  • Approach all interactions with guests and employees in a friendly and service-oriented manner.
  • Attendance at all required meetings and training sessions is expected.
  • Regular attendance in line with our organization’s standards is required, with scheduling varying based on hotel needs.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the appropriate uniform and name tag.

  • Effectively handle problems by anticipating, preventing, identifying, and resolving issues as needed.
