School Psychologist in Des Plaines, IL

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program
• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Psychologist endorsement
• Previous experience within school environments preferred
• Strong knowledge of assessment methods and psychoeducational evaluations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, parents, and educational staff

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine students’ learning and behavioral needs
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute valuable insights to develop educational interventions
• Provide counseling, crisis intervention, and behavioral support as needed
• Collaborate with educators, parents, and outside professionals to design and implement individualized strategies
• Support school-wide initiatives for mental health and positive behavior reinforcement
• Maintain accurate and thorough records according to district and state guidelines
