Overview

The Sub-Acute and Long-Term Care sector is rapidly growing, offering excellent opportunities and a flexible work-life balance (no weekends or on-call duties)!

We are looking for a Fee-For-Service/1099 Attending Physician/Medical Director for our facility located in Gardendale, AL. The schedule is flexible regarding hours and days worked each week.

This position combines the roles of Attending Physician and Medical Director, focusing primarily on clinical responsibilities. Candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine, with experience in Long-Term Care.

Responsibilities

The Attending Physician collaborates with the Center Medical Director to ensure that clinical services align with our organization's mission. This is achieved by working with designated Centers and management to oversee the implementation, utilization, and evaluation of our Clinical Programs and nationally recognized care standards.

The Attending Physician primarily reports to the Regional Medical Director and is also accountable to the Center's Administrator and Medical Director due to their legal and regulatory obligations.

  • Assume full responsibility for patients admitted to their service.
  • Adhere to the credentialing process established by our organization.
  • Visit assigned patients promptly in accordance with our policies and procedures.
  • Follow guidelines related to our initiatives.
  • Comply with the Medical Staff's 'Rules and Regulations.'
  • Abide by our organization's 'Corporate Integrity' policies.
  • Conduct a thorough history and physical examination within 72 hours of patient admission.
  • Provide high-quality care to all assigned patients.
  • Collaborate closely with the Center Medical Director to enhance care quality within the facility.
  • Serve as a positive role model for fellow physicians and staff.
  • Communicate our mission effectively to the community and professional organizations.
  • Facilitate appropriate relationships and coordinate care arrangements with local hospitals and relevant institutions.
  • Exhibit care and compassion to ensure all customers receive exceptional service.
  • Follow our organization's Time Off and On Call policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Compliance Responsibilities

Adhere to all applicable legal requirements, standards, policies, and procedures, including but not limited to the Compliance Process, Standard/Code of Conduct, Federal False Claims Act, and HIPAA regulations.

  • Participate in mandatory orientation and training programs.
  • Promptly report any concerns or suspected non-compliance incidents to management or the Compliance Officer via the designated reporting line.
  • Cooperate with monitoring, auditing functions, and investigations.
Qualifications

Required: M.D. or D.O. degree.

Preferred: Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine, with ongoing certification maintenance. Specialization in Geriatrics is a plus.

Benefits

Salary Range: USD $75,000.00 - USD $100,000.00 per year.
