You'll play a key role in assembling composite and metallic aircraft components using specialist tools, fixtures, and techniques, ensuring all work is completed to exacting aerospace standards.Working as part of a highly skilled team, you'll contribute to the production of complex aircraft structures while benefiting from ongoing training, development, and long-term contract opportunities.Key ResponsibilitiesAssemble and trim composite and metallic aircraft componentsDrill, ream, and countersink composite and metallic structuresSet aircraft components within calibrated build jigsCarry out deburring and under-head radius preparation of aircraft components and assembliesPerform fettling activities using approved and calibrated toolingUse nut runners and pre-set torque equipment during assembly operationsInterpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and manufacturing instructionsMaintain high standards of workmanship and product qualityParticipate in continuous improvement initiativesEnsure compliance with all Health & Safety requirementsSelf-certify completed work in accordance with approved processes and standardsEssential Qualifications & ExperienceRecognised Engineering Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, or City & Guilds Level 3 qualificationMinimum 3 years' relevant experience assembling aircraft components using engineering drawings and manufacturing processesExperience working with composite and metallic aircraft structuresStrong understanding of aerospace manufacturing techniques and quality requirementsAbility to work accurately to close tolerancesGood hand skills and attention to detailKey SkillsAbility to assemble and trim composite and ancillary materials to close tolerancesGood hand skills and coordinationAbility to interpret aircraft drawings, limits, and quality requirementsExperience operating CNC machinery and associated processesSelf-motivated team player with strong communication skillsAbility to work independently and within small teamsWillingness to undertake further training and developmentUnderstanding of composite manufacturing techniques and processesAbility to take responsibility for self-certification of completed workWorking knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office applicationsAssessment ProcessSuccessful candidates will be required to attend an on-site trade test assessing practical competencies including:DrillingRivetingCountersinkingWorking with composite materialsWhy Apply?Competitive pay rates with clear progression opportunitiesEnhanced overtime ratesLong-term rolling contract with ongoing opportunitiesModern aerospace manufacturing facilityOpportunity to work on advanced aircraft structuresOngoing training and skills developmentJoin a highly skilled and supportive engineering teamThis is an excellent opportunity for experienced Aircraft Fitters, Composite Technicians, Aerospace Assemblers, or Manufacturing Technicians looking to further their careers within a world-class aerospace manufacturing environment.TPBN1_UKTJ
