Maintenance Technician

Hilger Crystals manufacture commercial-grade synthetic scintillation crystalsused in infrared spectroscopy and state-of-the-art radiation detection solutions.We are looking for a Maintenance Technician t o support the Production Engineering Manager in ensuring equipment, building and infrastructure are in good working order, flagging up areas of concern as appropriate.This is a Full Time role. Our standard working hours are 37 hours per week. Mon - Thurs 8am - 5pm, Fri 8am - 12pm.Main Responsibilities Assist Production Engineering Manager in his roleFlag up any issueswithequipment / infrastructureAssist in upkeep andmaintenance of equipment and building, including record keepingBasic electrical tasks i.e. accessory replacement, equipment disconnection, lightingUse of a wide range of hand & power tools, such asdrills, grinders, sanders, impact driver, circular saws etc andensuring the safe use of them and how to maintain themMachine shop toolmakingOperation of lathe, mill, CNC mill, linisher, bandsaw, drill, grinding wheel, 3D printerProblem-solve day-to-day issues, seeking advice from the Production Engineering Manager as appropriateEnsure all Health and Safety procedures in the work area are observed and followed and that relevant PPE is worn at all times.To ensure housekeeping duties are carried out and work area and machinery is kept at the agreed standard.Any other duties, as directed by managerPrevious experience in a similar maintenance role is a necessityAs well as a competitive salary, Hilger Crystals offers the following benefits:Profit share schemeSocial Club eventsProfessional developmentDeath in Service schemeAdditional days leave per year of service, up to 10 additional daysCycle schemeSTRICTLY NO AGENCIESTPBN1_UKTJ
