Production Supervisor / Workshop ForemanLocation: Corby, NorthamptonshireSector: Manufacturing / JoinerySalary: £32,000 per annumHours: Monday to Thursday 07:00-16:00, Friday 07:00-13:00OverviewAn established joinery manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor / Workshop Foreman to support the day-to-day running of its busy factory operation.This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a strong background in timber manufacturing, joinery production, woodworking, or CNC wood machining who enjoys being on the shop floor, supporting colleagues, and helping production run smoothly.Working closely with senior management, you will act as a key point of contact for the production team, ensuring works orders progress through the factory efficiently, quality standards aremaintained, and any issues are resolved quickly.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the smooth day-to-day operation of the factory floorMonitor production activities and help ensure workloads are completed to scheduleAssistin coordinating workflow through machining, assembly,finishingand dispatch departmentsAct as a first point of contact for shop floor employees, offering guidance and support whererequiredEnsure works orders are progressing through the factory efficientlyLiaise with managementregardingproduction priorities and potential delaysHelpidentifyand resolve production issues to minimise downtime andmaintainproductivityRead and interpret technical drawings and manufacturing specificationsMonitor product quality throughout the manufacturing processSupport continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce wasteEnsure machinery, equipment and work areas aremaintainedin a safe and organised conditionAssistwith training and mentoring less experienced team membersAccurately update production records and job tracking systemsProvide practical support across the factory asrequiredWork alongside the Factory Manager to plan,manageand oversee all production activity across all departmentsDevelop, issue, andmaintaindetailed daily and weekly production schedules based on project requirements, customer orders, and available capacity.Monitor production progress against schedule and adjust plans proactively to address bottlenecks, delays, or changes in priorities.Skills & ExperienceExperience within a timber manufacturing, joinery,woodworkingor related production environmentessentialStrong understanding of wood machining processes and factory workflowessentialAbility to read and interpret technical drawingsPreviousexperience as a Production Supervisor, Workshop Foreman, Team Leader, SeniorMachinistor similar role will consider candidates who are ready to step up in your careerPractical, hands-on approach with excellent problem-solving skillsGood organisational skills and attention to detailAbility to communicate effectively with colleagues across different departmentsExperienceoperatingor working alongside CNC woodworking machinery would beadvantageousPositive attitude and willingness to support the wider teamCompliance & StandardsPromote safe working practices and ensure adherence to health and safety proceduresMaintainhigh standardsof quality throughout the production processSupport housekeeping and organisation across all production areasEnsure company policies and procedures arefollowed at all timesAdditional InformationThis role would suit an experienced woodworking or joinery professional who enjoys being involved in the day-to-day operation of a manufacturing facility.
