Job Description

Title: Electrical EngineerDuration: August 2026 - December 2026 (Potential Extension / Temp to Perm)Location: Birmingham, UK (1 Centenary Square)Job Type: OnsiteNotice Period: 2 WeeksExperience: 3 YearsKey ResponsibilitiesCarry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across commercial client sites.Diagnose and repair electrical faults across building services systems.Perform electrical testing and complete relevant certification and documentation.Maintain emergency lighting, power systems, distribution boards, RCBO/RCD systems, and fixed wire installations.Carry out maintenance and repairs on door entry systems, automatic doors, BMS controls, and heating control systems.Attend emergency callouts and support out-of-hours maintenance requirements.Assess and order parts, equipment, and materials required for maintenance tasks.Update and close completed maintenance activities within CAFM systems.Complete site logbooks, technical reports, risk assessments, and method statements.Ensure engineering standards, site procedures, and QA requirements are always maintained.Support other engineering disciplines and trades when required.Inspect building services proactively and identify remedial works opportunities.Produce detailed reports outlining maintenance findings and recommended corrective actions.Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Risk Management procedures.Provide excellent customer service while working within a client-facing commercial environment.Preferred Experience and Technical Skills:NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation.City & Guilds Level 2 and 3 Diploma in Electrical Installation.City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2 or 2330 Levels 2 & 3.City & Guilds 2391 or 2394 & 2395 Inspection and Testing.18th Edition Wiring Regulations Certificate.Extensive knowledge of commercial electrical systems and building services.Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance experience.Experience with HVAC, heating systems, and air conditioning equipment.Strong fault-finding capabilities, including electrical systems, electronics, and LED drivers.Experience using CAFM systems, smartphones, and mobile maintenance applications.Knowledge of health and safety regulations and safe systems of work.Experience carrying out building fabric repairs, plumbing, or carpentry tasks is advantageous.IPAF 3A & 3B certification preferred.PASMA certification preferred.Full UK Driving Licence preferred.Working HoursMonday to Friday.40 hours per week.Standard working hours: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM.Flexibility required for overtime, evening, and weekend work as needed.Participation in emergency call-out rota may be required.Top Must-Have SkillsFlexibility to support overtime, weekend work, and multi-skilled maintenance activities.Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic experience within commercial facilities.Good IT skills with experience using CAFM systems, mobile devices, and maintenance software.TPBN1_UKTJ
