About The RoleEngineered to Protect, thats our promise, we protect what matters - our nations, our waters, our land, our cities, our people, our environment, our world.You will provide independent Quality and Product Assurance support to the company, inclusive of providing Quality & Product Assurance expertise to the business, maintaining quality levels, supporting improvement activities and undertaking internal auditing.Quality Engineer will be based at our Barnstaple site. This role allows for flexible working.The salary for this role is up to £44k, depending on experience.Whatyoullbedoing Audit internal processes, projects, and suppliers against the Business Management System, AS9100, and defence-specific requirementsAttend and contribute to project gate reviews, ensuring quality requirements, risks, and deliverables are effectively assessed and controlled at each stage of the lifecycle including flow-down of requirements to the supply chainConduct supplier audits and manage supplier-related risks, non-conformances, and concessions to effective closure where requiredOversee root cause analysis and corrective actions, ensuring robust and sustainable solutionsVerify supplier First Article Inspection (FAI) in line with AS9102 and ensure full documentation compliance where requiredSupport incoming inspection and validate supplier certification, traceability, and conformity evidenceManage audit findings and quality actions, ensuring timely closure and audit readinessDrive continuous improvement across internal functions and the supplier base, focusing on risk reduction and right-first-time deliveryProvide quality support to engineering, procurement, programmes, and operationsParticipate in customer, regulatory, and third-party audits, ensuring full compliance and preparednessAbout our companyAt SEA, we develop and deliver advanced solutions to make our world safer, cleaner and more efficient.We provide state-of-the-art applications for naval ship and fleet protection, and undersea surveillance systems.
