Refrigeration EngineerSalary: £38,000 £55,000 (Dependant on Experience)Hours: 40 hours per week + additional paid door-to-door travelLocation: Cambridgeshire, Oxford, London (candidates are not limited to covering only this area)Our client is a UK-based engineering firm specialising in refrigeration, mechanical services, and HVAC solutions, primarily serving the food production and distribution sector.They are seeking an experienced Refrigeration Engineer to support the service, maintenance, and installation of commercial and industrial refrigeration systems. This is a field-based role, working with a variety of refrigeration technologies in customer environments.The role covers service and maintenance, installation and upgrade work where required. Depending on the project scope, the engineer may also take responsibility for supporting and overseeing Engineering Assistants on-site, as well as sharing knowledge and best practices.Key Responsibilities:Perform routine maintenance and servicing of Refrigeration Systems and HVACDiagnose and repair faults on Refrigeration Systems and HVACInstall new components, Refrigeration Systems and HVACConduct performance tests and ensure systems are operating efficientlyMaintain accurate records of work performed and parts usedAdhere to health and safety regulations and company policiesTravel to various locations to attend service callsParticipate in ongoing training and development programsSupport, Mentor and Lead Engineering Assistants on site where allocatedQualifications:F-Gas certification (Essential)Safe Handling of refrigerants, including CO2, Ammonia and Hydrocarbons preferredProven experience working as a Refrigeration Engineer in a commercial or industrial environmentStrong fault-finding, diagnostic, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently while also collaborating effectively with wider engineering teamsStrong communication skills with a customer-focused approachKey Competencies:Refrigeration and electrical fault findingConfident use of diagnostic tools, gauges, and control systemsAbility to analyse data and provide practical solutions to system faultsCompletion of repairs in line with BS EN 378 standardsFlexibility to adapt to changing schedules and prioritiesProfessional communication with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholdersWorking Conditions:Nationwide travel required; full UK driving licence essentialOccasional overnight staysComfortable with using stairs, working at height and in confined or restricted spaces where requiredExposure to cold environments due to the nature of refrigeration systemsWhat can you expect in return?Long-term service rewardsPension schemeWhats next?
