Salary : £35,000 - £43,000 p.a.Location : Old Street, LondonWorking pattern: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (9am - 5.30pm)About the RoleAsylum Aid is seeking an Immigration and Public Law Solicitor to develop and lead a strategic public law caseload. You will work closely with the Public Law Supervisor and Director of Legal Casework to drive change through strategic litigation, representing clients on asylum and human rights claims, and bringing judicial review challenges in immigration and asylum matters.What You'll Be DoingProvide legal advice and representation to clients on asylum, human rights, and judicial review challenges in immigration matters and the treatment of asylum seekers and migrantsIdentify common issues from the wider team's caseload suitable for strategic legal challenges and contribute to internal strategy discussionsAttend external meetings on behalf of Asylum Aid and contribute to sector-wide strategy discussionsApply for Legal Aid Agency case funding through the CCMS, obtain costs and scope extensions, and submit claims for paymentMaintain client files and records in line with file management proceduresProvide technical supervision and training in judicial review procedure to other staff where necessaryEnsure legal aid and other income is maximised and targets are achievedWhat You'll BringQualified as a solicitor with experience in asylum and public lawStrong knowledge of judicial review procedure and legal aid funding processesExperience representing clients in complex immigration and human rights mattersUnderstanding of forced migration, asylum systems, and human rights lawAbility to identify strategic litigation opportunities and drive change through the courtsWhat's On OfferA role focused on high-impact strategic litigation with a leading organisation in asylum and human rights lawOpportunity to work with a supportive team and contribute to sector-wide changeEqual opportunities and Living Wage employerHow to ApplyComplete our online application form by 9am on Monday 27th July 2026, including:A short covering letter explaining why the role appeals to you and how your skills and experience match the role, including any voluntary experience and lived experience.
