\nAbout the Role
\nReporting directly to the Managing Director, this is an opportunity for an experienced Production Engineer to grow into a production leadership role over time. You'll take ownership of setting up and scaling manufacturing processes to support the company's growth, working closely with a small production team of 8. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to build real experience in process improvement and new product introduction, with genuine progression into full operational leadership as you develop in the role.
\nWhat You'll Be Doing
\nDesign, set up and scale manufacturing processes to meet growing customer demand
\nSupport new product introduction (NPI) and manufacturing process development
\nInterpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to guide production
\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean/Six Sigma methodology
\nSupport production planning, scheduling and resource allocation
\nContribute to health & safety standards across the manufacturing operation
\nHelp maintain and improve quality management systems in line with ISO 9001
\nWork closely with the Managing Director and wider team, taking on growing responsibility for team leadership over time
\nWhat We're Looking For
\nEssential:
\nBased in the UK with the legal right to work in the UK
\nStrong background in manufacturing or production engineering
\nExperience setting up, improving or scaling manufacturing processes
\nLean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or Continuous Improvement experience
\nAbility to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
\nUnderstanding of ISO 9001 quality management systems
\nStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
\nGenuine ambition to progress into a production leadership role
\nDesirable:
\nExperience with fine wire assemblies, precision assembly or electronics assembly
\nExperience within sensor manufacturing, instrumentation or industrial manufacturing
\nKnowledge of RTDs, thermocouples, mineral insulated assemblies or related technologies
\nExperience supporting new product introduction (NPI)
\nExperience training, mentoring or informally leading colleagues
\nDegree in Manufacturing Engineering
