General Maintenance Operative (Electrical Bias) | Barnsley£32,000 per annum37.5 hours per week | Monday to FridayAre you an experienced maintenance professional with strong electrical skills looking for a varied role where your work genuinely makes a difference?Barnsley Healthcare Federation is looking for a General Maintenance Operative (Electrical Bias) to help maintain and improve a diverse estate of healthcare facilities across Barnsley.You'll play an important role in ensuring buildings remain safe, compliant and well maintained, helping create environments where patients and healthcare professionals can thrive.The role focuses primarily on electrical maintenance while also supporting wider building maintenance across multiple sites.What you'll be doingCarrying out planned and reactive maintenance with a focus on electrical systemsInstalling, inspecting, testing and repairing electrical systems, lighting and controlsSupporting general building maintenance including basic plumbing, joinery, decorating and fabric repairsResponding promptly to maintenance requests across Federation sitesCompleting routine compliance checks including emergency lighting, fire systems and PAT testingMaintaining accurate maintenance and compliance recordsWorking alongside contractors and colleagues to deliver a high standard of serviceIdentifying opportunities to improve buildings and support energy efficiency initiativesWhat we're looking forA recognised electrical qualification, such as City & Guilds Level 2 (2365) or equivalentHands-on experience in electrical maintenanceExperience carrying out general building maintenanceKnowledge of health and safety regulations and safe working practicesStrong fault-finding and repair skillsExcellent organisation and record-keeping abilitiesA proactive, flexible approach and the ability to work independentlyGood communication skills and experience working collaboratively with othersHours and location5 hours per weekMonday to FridayBased at Priory CampusExpected to travel to other Barnsley Healthcare Federation sitesBenefitsNHS Pension SchemeGenerous annual leave plus bank holidaysOngoing training and professional developmentEmployee Assistance ProgrammeSupportive working environmentOpportunities to develop additional maintenance skillsOpportunity to make a genuine differenceHow to ApplyPlease apply with an up-to-date CV.
