Senior Quantity Surveyor - BristolSalary: £65,000 - £75,000 + PackageProject: Major £100m Construction SchemeHays are working with a leading UK main contractor who are looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a newly secured £100m scheme in Bristol.This is a key appointment on a newly secured major scheme in Filton, Bristol, within the defence, research and advanced manufacturing sector, being delivered for a prestigious blue-chip client. The project is a high-value, technically complex development and will require a Senior Quantity Surveyor who is confident working in a fast-paced, site-based environment. The contractor has a strong reputation for delivering large-scale projects across the UK and Ireland, with experience across commercial, industrial, manufacturing, defence, healthcare, education and infrastructure sectors.The role will be site-based in Bristol, reporting directly into the Commercial Manager, and will suit a commercially strong Quantity Surveyor who is confident managing packages, subcontractor accounts, variations, valuations and cost reporting on high-value projects.The RoleAs Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:Managing commercial duties on a major £100m construction schemePreparing and managing subcontractor procurement packagesAssessing and certifying subcontractor interim paymentsManaging variations, valuations and final accountsSupporting monthly CVR reporting and cost forecastingIdentifying and managing commercial risk across the projectAssisting with Extension of Time, Loss and Expense and contractual claims where requiredEnsuring strong commercial control across subcontractor accountsWorking closely with site teams to ensure commercial and operational alignmentBuilding strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partnersThe ideal candidate will have:Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor with a main contractorStrong experience working on large-scale construction projectsGood knowledge of JCT and/or NEC forms of contractStrong commercial awareness and negotiation skillsExperience managing subcontractor accounts from procurement through to final accountStrong reporting, cost control and CVR experienceExcellent communication and organisational skillsAbility to work effectively as part of a site-based project teamDegree/HNC/HND or relevant construction/commercial qualification preferredWhat's on OfferSalary between £65,000 - £75,000 DOECompetitive benefits packageOpportunity to work on a landmark £100m Bristol schemeClear career progression with a respected UK contractorSupportive commercial team and strong project pipelineLong-term opportunity within a growing businessApplyIf you are a Quantity Surveyor looking for on a major project in Bristol, please apply or contact James Mitchell at Hays for a confidential conversation.Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
