Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor

Due to a strong pipeline of secured work, an established main contractor is looking to appoint both a Project Quantity Surveyor and a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team in Glasgow.

With several major projects due to commence over the coming months, this is an excellent opportunity to join a business with a healthy order book and long-term career prospects.

The Opportunity

The first project you'll be involved in is the refurbishment and repurposing of a newly constructed, previously unoccupied building in Glasgow, valued over £80 million. The project is due to commence at the beginning of October and has an anticipated programme of 24 months.

Following this, you'll have the opportunity to work on a variety of high-profile projects across the Glasgow area.

The Role

Working as part of an experienced commercial team, you'll take responsibility for the financial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing project costs and commercial performance
\n
• Procurement and management of subcontractor packages
\n
• Preparing valuations, applications for payment and variations
\n
• Cost reporting and forecasting
\n
• Managing change control and risk
\n
• Producing and agreeing final accounts
\n
• Working closely with operational teams to ensure successful project delivery
\n
• Building strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors
\n

What We're Looking For

\n
• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment
\n
• Proven track record delivering construction projects from inception through to completion
\n
• Strong knowledge of commercial processes and contract administration
\n
• Experience working under JCT contracts is advantageous
\n
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
\n
• Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
\n
