Mechanical Technician LeadWorking LocationSouth LondonContract TypePermanentWork ScheduleHours: 6am-2pm (Mon-Fri)Salary: up to £55,000Role OverviewIf you are a hands-on mechanical leader who wants real ownership of plant reliability and a team to develop, this role offers genuine scope on a site running critical process equipment.An established manufacturing operator is looking for a Mechanical Technician Lead to oversee mechanical maintenance and drive safe, efficient operation across the site, with clear routes to grow within the business.Key ResponsibilitiesLead inspection, troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair of mechanical equipmentManage routine maintenance, testing and installation of new equipmentOversee planned maintenance activity via the site's maintenance management systemsMaintain strict control of the Permit to Work system for the internal team and contractorsEngage and control contractors across civil, mechanical, instrument and electrical workMaintain full records and documentation for all mechanical equipmentSupervise a maintenance team, including day and/or shift-based working patternsEnsure safe working practices are upheld across all maintenance activityRequirementsLevel 4 Apprenticeship (or equivalent trade experience) in Mechanical EngineeringPrevious experience leading or supervising a maintenance team, either on days or a shift patternATEX qualification and confidence working in explosive atmosphere environments, idealExperience in a manufacturing, engineering or scientific environment, preferredA systematic, logical approach to problem-solvingStrong communication skills and a good command of EnglishCompetence with MS Office and standard maintenance management systems, beneficialExisting right to work in the UK (this role cannot offer visa sponsorship)TPBN1_UKTJ
