\n \n \nJob Summary
\nWe are seeking a skilled and reliable Plumber / General Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out plumbing repairs, preventative maintenance, and general building maintenance across residential, commercial, or industrial properties. The role requires a hands-on individual with strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship and customer service.
\n \n \nKey Responsibilities
\nPlumbing Duties
\nInstall, repair, and maintain water supply, drainage, and sanitation systems.
\nDiagnose and repair leaks, blockages, faulty pipework, and plumbing fixtures.
\nInstall and maintain boilers, water heaters, taps, toilets, sinks, and related equipment.
\nConduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on plumbing systems.
\nRespond promptly to emergency plumbing issues.
\n\n
General Maintenance Duties
\nPerform routine building maintenance and repairs.
\nCarry out basic carpentry, painting, decorating, and handyman tasks.
\nReplace and repair fixtures, fittings, doors, locks, and flooring when required.
\nUndertake minor electrical maintenance such as replacing bulbs, switches, and sockets (within competency and regulations).
\nMaintain plant rooms, utility areas, and building services equipment.
\n \nCompliance & Safety
\nEnsure all work is completed in line with Health & Safety regulations.
\nMaintain accurate maintenance records and job reports.
\nUse tools, equipment, and materials safely and responsibly.
\nIdentify potential risks and recommend corrective actions.
\nAdhere to company policies and industry standards.
\n \n \nEssential Requirements
\nQualifications
\n- \n
- Recognised Plumbing Qualification (NVQ Level 2/3, City & Guilds, SVQ, or equivalent). \n
- Full UK Driving Licence. \n
Experience
\n- \n
- Minimum 2 years' experience in plumbing maintenance. \n
- Experience in general building maintenance. \n
- Proven ability to diagnose and repair plumbing faults. \n
- Experience working independently and managing workloads. \n
Skills & Competencies
\n- \n
- Strong plumbing and maintenance knowledge. \n
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. \n
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. \n
- Good communication and customer service skills. \n
- Ability to read technical drawings and maintenance manuals. \n
- Basic IT literacy for reporting and record keeping. \n
Desirable Requirements

- Gas Safe Registration. \n
- Legionella awareness training. \n
- Experience within facilities management, Retail, hospitality, or property maintenance. \n
- IPAF, PASMA, or other relevant maintenance certifications. \n
- First Aid certification. \n

Working Hours

- Standard working hours: [40 hours per week 830-16:30] 1.5 rate anytime outwith \n
- Paid Travel Door to Door \n
- Participation in an on-call rota may be required. \n
- Overtime may be available as required. \n
