Job Summary

\n

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Plumber / General Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out plumbing repairs, preventative maintenance, and general building maintenance across residential, commercial, or industrial properties. The role requires a hands-on individual with strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

\n

Plumbing Duties

\n

Install, repair, and maintain water supply, drainage, and sanitation systems.

\n

Diagnose and repair leaks, blockages, faulty pipework, and plumbing fixtures.

\n

Install and maintain boilers, water heaters, taps, toilets, sinks, and related equipment.

\n

Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on plumbing systems.

\n

Respond promptly to emergency plumbing issues.

\n

\n

General Maintenance Duties

\n

Perform routine building maintenance and repairs.

\n

Carry out basic carpentry, painting, decorating, and handyman tasks.

\n

Replace and repair fixtures, fittings, doors, locks, and flooring when required.

\n

Undertake minor electrical maintenance such as replacing bulbs, switches, and sockets (within competency and regulations).

\n

Maintain plant rooms, utility areas, and building services equipment.

\n

\n

Compliance & Safety

\n

Ensure all work is completed in line with Health & Safety regulations.

\n

Maintain accurate maintenance records and job reports.

\n

Use tools, equipment, and materials safely and responsibly.

\n

Identify potential risks and recommend corrective actions.

\n

Adhere to company policies and industry standards.

\n

\n

Essential Requirements

\n

Qualifications

\n

\n
• Recognised Plumbing Qualification (NVQ Level 2/3, City & Guilds, SVQ, or equivalent).
\n
• Full UK Driving Licence.
\n

\n

Experience

\n

\n
• Minimum 2 years' experience in plumbing maintenance.
\n
• Experience in general building maintenance.
\n
• Proven ability to diagnose and repair plumbing faults.
\n
• Experience working independently and managing workloads.
\n

\n

Skills & Competencies

\n
• Strong plumbing and maintenance knowledge.
\n
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
\n
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
\n
• Good communication and customer service skills.
\n
• Ability to read technical drawings and maintenance manuals.
\n
• Basic IT literacy for reporting and record keeping.
\n

Desirable Requirements

• Gas Safe Registration.
\n
• Legionella awareness training.
\n
• Experience within facilities management, Retail, hospitality, or property maintenance.
\n
• IPAF, PASMA, or other relevant maintenance certifications.
\n
• First Aid certification.
\n

• Paid Travel Door to Door

• Participation in an on-call rota may be required.

• Overtime may be available as required.
