This adult male maximum-security correctional facility operates under the Kansas Department of Corrections (KDOC) and is located in El Dorado, Kansas, in Butler County, approximately 30 miles northeast of Wichita. The facility is situated just east of the city along U.S. Highway 54 in a more rural area outside the main El Dorado community. The facility maintains a census of 250 and supports a multidisciplinary behavioral health team that includes therapists, NPs, and MDs.

About the Clinician's WorkdayThe Licensed Professional Counselor will provide behavioral health services to an adult male incarcerated population on a full-time day shift schedule totaling 40 hours per week within an inpatient correctional setting. The clinician will conduct individual and group therapy sessions addressing mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, anger management, substance use, and adjustment to incarceration, and will complete clinical evaluations, psychosocial assessments, and individualized treatment plans. Responsibilities include crisis intervention, suicide risk assessments, documentation of progress notes, and maintenance of accurate clinical records in accordance with facility and regulatory requirements. The clinician will collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, case managers, correctional staff, and other members of the care team to coordinate comprehensive behavioral health services.
