Location: Lenexa, KS
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (30-minute lunch)
Position Type: Full-Time, Immediate Start
Attire: Company-provided scrubs
About the Role
Are you energetic, detail-oriented, and looking to thrive in a fast-paced medical setting? A premier retina practice in Lenexa is seeking a Call Center Representative / Scheduler to join their team ASAP!
This is a dynamic position where no two days are the same. You will be the primary voice and first impression for patients and referring physicians. If you excel at multitasking, paying close attention to the details, and bringing a positive, upbeat energy to work every day, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Scheduling: Answer incoming multi-line phone calls promptly (within 1-3 rings) with a warm, professional greeting to schedule appointments.
Information Intake: Interview patients to verify demographics, update records, and gather necessary clinical notes for scheduling.
Referral Coordination: Coordinate directly with referring doctors' offices to screen and schedule both routine and emergent patient appointments.
Triage & Routing: Route medical inquiry calls quickly and accurately to the appropriate clinical staff members.
Message Management: Screen calls carefully to ensure all messages are thorough, accurate, and delivered promptly.
Maintain strict confidentiality, professionalism, and high attendance standards.
What We're Looking For
Attention to Detail: Ability to stay accurate and sharp in a fast-paced environment (especially during high-volume end-of-month periods).
Communication: Exceptional phone etiquette, active listening, and strong verbal skills.
Personality: An upbeat, resilient, and positive attitude - even when handling high call volumes.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required (post-secondary education is a plus).
Experience: Experience with multi-line phone systems, computers, and working in a medical office setting is preferred, though driven candidates with transferable skills are encouraged to apply!
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit for the duration of a standard workday while viewing and typing on computer monitors.
Capability to handle medium-demand physical tasks (walking, standing, light lifting, bending).
