This is a hands-on role supporting the testing and development of next-generation X-ray screening technologies used to identify explosives, weapons, contraband, and other security threats.This position would suit candidates with experience in airport security screening, baggage screening systems, military environments, test engineering, product testing, quality testing, or security screening operations.About The RoleAs a Data Collection Test Technician, you will play a key role in validating and improving cutting-edge X-ray detection systems. You will be responsible for planning and conducting test activities, collecting and analysing data, maintaining detailed records, and providing valuable feedback to our engineering and algorithm development teams.This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical testing, investigative work, problem-solving, and working with advanced technology in a highly regulated environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and execute test programmes and data collection activities for prototype X-ray systemsDevelop, manage, and maintain test sets and test itemsConduct scanning and testing activities while capturing detailed records and observationsAnalyse test data and identify trends to support algorithm developmentCurate and maintain algorithm datasets and test material inventoriesProduce accurate reports and communicate findings to engineering teamsResearch and understand regulatory and commercial testing requirementsSupport certification and compliance testing activitiesLiaise with external regulatory and testing agenciesEnsure adherence to quality, safety, and company standardsAbout YouWe're looking for someone who is naturally curious, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently.Essential Requirements:Degree in Engineering, Science, Technology, or a related discipline, or a minimum of 2 years' relevant industry experienceStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent attention to detail and record-keeping abilitiesAbility to work independently and take ownership of testing activitiesGood communication skills and ability to work cross-functionallyPhysically capable of lifting, moving, and scanning test bags and equipmentWillingness to travel domestically and internationally (approximately 10-20%)Highly Desirable BackgroundsWe would particularly welcome applications from candidates with experience in:Airport security screening environmentsBaggage screening or checkpoint operationsSecurity screening equipmentMilitary, defence, or armed forces backgroundsTest engineering, validation, or product testingQuality assurance or compliance testingWorking with regulatory or certification bodiesData analysis, test methodologies, or statistical analysisKnowledge of munitions, weapons, explosives, or threat detection technologies would be advantageous, although full training will be provided.If you're looking for a unique opportunity to combine testing, technology, and security in a role that makes a real-world impact, we'd love to hear from you.TPBN1_UKTJ
