Outside IR35Huddersfield- 3 days a week, 2 days from homelong term contractAbout the roleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to provide commercial support within our Rail Infrastructure business. This requirement may be fulfilled through a suitable contractor or supplier route, depending on the agreed engagement model.The role will report functionally to a Commercial Manager or Senior Commercial Manager and will provide pre- and post-contract commercial support for designated projects, including subcontract, materials and direct labour. The role will support the successful delivery of projects within agreed cost and time constraints and act as a key commercial interface with Project Managers, Work Package Managers, stakeholders and suppliers.Scope of services• Provide commercial support for project work package change control, cost and budget management, forecasting and risk mitigation• Act as the commercial interface for nominated work package managers and provide contractual and commercial support to Project Managers and Engineering teams• Prepare or contribute to internal and external commercial reports as required by the Commercial Delivery Strategy• Apply relevant project processes and maintain document control in line with applicable company standards and project requirements• Maintaining auditable records in accordance with contractual requirements• Work collaboratively with finance, project management, engineering, subcontractors, suppliers and client representatives as required for the assignmentRequired experience and capability• Previous Senior Quantity Surveyor, Quantity Surveyor or Contracts Administrator experience in a contractor-side project environment, ideally within rail, engineering, construction or a related industry• Relevant degree qualification and/or professional qualification, or demonstrable equivalent experience, such as RICS or ICES background• Experience managing direct labour and subcontract costs, estimating change and variations, forecasting cost and measuring cost of work complete• Strong commercial awareness, negotiation skills and ability to support agreed commercial strategies• Ability to work with limited supervision, use own initiative and deliver outputs in cost- or time-critical conditions• Applications are particularly welcomed from individuals who can demonstrate longevity in previous customer commissions, including engagements lasting two years or more• Confidence engaging with internal and external stakeholders at appropriate levels for the assignmentThis requirement is intended to secure experienced commercial support for the relevant project need, with the engagement approach to be confirmed through the appropriate internal process.The individual will be expected to comply with applicable site, safety, security, confidentiality, procurement and project governance requirements for the duration of the assignment.Responses may be submitted by suitably experienced individuals, suppliers or agencies able to provide Senior Quantity Surveyor support in line with the assignment requirements.TPBN1_UKTJ
