Subsidence Claims Consultant Desk-based / RemoteJob Market: Insurance ClaimsSubsidence Claims Consultant - About the roleThis role sits at the centre of the technical claims operation. Youll manage your own portfolio of domestic and commercial subsidence claims, using your engineering insight, analytical mindset, and problem solving instincts to guide each case from first report to resolution. Every claim is a puzzle, and youre the one who pieces it together.Working from home, youll blend technical authority with empathy and communication. Youll translate complex structural issues into clear, confident explanations that help policyholders feel informed and supported. Youll collaborate with engineers, surveyors, loss adjusters and contractorsalways steering the process toward fair, timely and high quality outcomes.Subsidence Claims Consultant Key dutiesTaking full responsibility for a portfolio of subsidence claims, from first notification to settlementDiagnosing the cause of damage using engineering knowledge and evidence based assessmentCoordinating investigations, monitoring, repairs and mitigation strategiesCommunicating clearly and compassionately with customers, ensuring they feel supported throughoutMaking fair, balanced decisions that align with policy cover and technical best practiceDriving progress proactively to deliver timely, high quality outcomesYoure the trusted expert customers rely on during a stressful and uncertain timeYou get to investigate real structural issues and apply your judgement to shape the right solutionYou own your cases end to end, giving you autonomy and variety every dayYou work with a wide network of specialists, learning from different disciplinesYou make a tangible differenceprotecting homes, livelihoods and peace of mindWhat youll be doingSubsidence Claims Consultant Key requirementsA recognised professional building qualification (e.g., MICE, MRICS, MCIOB, MIStructE, MCABE) or active progression toward one. Relevant experience will also be considered.Strong technical knowledge of structural defects and subsidence related issues.The ability to diagnose building damage remotely using supplied evidence.Experience within the insurance industry and a solid understanding of liability considerations.Confident negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to gain agreement from multiple stakeholders.A problem solving mindset, able to evaluate complex information and make sound decisions.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Strong organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritise effectively.High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality outcomes.A flexible, self motivated approach and the ability to work independently.Along with our client, we are committed to a diverse workforce and as such recruit from a wide available pool of talent, with the hiring, assessment and selection process being fair, free from bias and one which ensures the right person is selected for the job, based on merit.
