Multi-Skilled Maintenance EngineerMechanical Bias | Manufacturing | PermanentLocation: Diss, Norfolk / Suffolk borderSalary: £46,600 per annum, Weekly PayShift: 4 on 4 off, 12-hour shifts - PM (6pm-6am)Contract: Permanent, full timeThe OpportunitySynergi are recruiting a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer for a well-established manufacturing business on the Norfolk/Suffolk border. This is a permanent role within a busy engineering team, working across a broad mix of production plant and site services.This is a permanent nights position - 4 on 4 off, 6pm to 6am. The shift is fixed, so there is no rotation onto days and no constantly resetting your sleep. You will know your pattern well in advance and can plan around it, and the four-day blocks leave your daytimes free for the things that are impossible to arrange around a standard working week.The site runs a fast-paced operation to strict quality and hygiene standards, so uptime matters. You will be trusted to make your own calls on breakdowns and to bring ideas forward on how the plant can run better - this is not a role where you simply wait for the next job to land.The position is mechanically biased with welding and fabrication skills highly valued. Electrical capability is not essential, but any electrical fault-finding experience will be a genuine advantage.What You Will Be DoingDelivering planned preventative maintenance to keep plant running at optimum efficiencyProviding emergency breakdown cover across all production plant and site servicesActing as first-line response on machinery faults, diagnosing and repairing to a high standardCarrying out welding and fabrication repairs as requiredRecording machine history, PPM records and handover information on the site maintenance management systemIdentifying and reporting problem areas across plant and services before they become failuresContributing improvement and cost-reduction ideas for the plant and the wider engineering departmentWorking to Health & Safety, quality and hygiene standards at all times, and maintaining strong housekeeping across the factory and workshopsWhat We Are Looking ForA time-served or formally qualified engineer with a mechanical biasWelding and fabrication skills - strongly preferredExperience of PPM and reactive maintenance within a manufacturing or production environmentComfortable working a 4 on 4 off 12-hour nights shift pattern, 6pm to 6amComfortable using a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS)Electrical fault-finding experience - desirable, not essentialA team player with strong attention to detail, who communicates well across the wider factory teamWhat Is On Offer£46,600 per annum, paid weeklyPermanent position with a stable, established manufacturerNights only shift pattern - fixed, with no rotation onto days4 on 4 off shift pattern - excellent work/life balance with blocks of time offReal autonomy on shift - you will be trusted to make the callA varied role with genuine scope to influence how the site runsOngoing training and development within the engineering teamInterested?Apply with an up-to-date CV and we will be in touch to discuss the role in more detail.
