Fabric Maintenance Operative Location: Walthamstow, Hainault & Ilford Salary: Up to £17.00 per hour PAYE Job Type: Full-Time | Temporary Ongoing Start Date: ASAP Fabric Maintenance Operative Required We are currently looking for an experienced Fabric Maintenance Operative to join our team, supporting the maintenance of four healthcare clinics across Walthamstow, Hainault and Ilford. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and skilled maintenance professional looking to work within a healthcare environment, with an immediate start available following a successful interview. The Role You will be responsible for carrying out a range of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks and reactive maintenance works, ensuring the clinics remain safe, compliant and fully operational. Typical duties include: Completing planned maintenance checks including: Water temperature monitoring Fire door inspections Plant room inspections General building fabric repairs Replacing taps, washers and pipework Installing and repairing cabinets and wall-mounted units Replacing locks and door furniture Patch plastering and minor decorating repairs Basic electrical maintenance, including changing lamps General handyman and fabric maintenance tasks Responding to reactive maintenance requests and emergency make-safe works What's on Offer? Up to £17.00 per hour PAYE Company van and fuel card provided 40-hour working week Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm (1-hour unpaid lunch) Ongoing Work Immediate start available On-Call Rota There is a requirement to participate in an emergency call-out rota: One week in every four on call £75 standby allowance for each on-call week Overtime paid for call-outs: Time and a half Double time for Sunday call-outs About You To be successful in this role you should have: Previous experience in a Fabric Maintenance, Handyperson or Building Maintenance role A qualification in a relevant trade (desirable) Experience within Facilities Management, ideally in healthcare or another critical environment (desirable) Good all-round maintenance skills across building fabric and basic electrical tasks A full UK driving licence with: No more than 6 penalty points No driving disqualification within the last 5 years The ability to obtain a Standard DBS CertificateIf you're a dependable maintenance professional looking for your next opportunity with an established FM team, we'd love to hear from you.
