This adult male maximum-security correctional facility operates under the Kansas Department of Corrections and is situated in Butler County, approximately 30 miles northeast of Wichita. The facility is located just east of El Dorado along U.S. Highway 54, in a more rural setting outside the main community. The facility maintains a multidisciplinary behavioral health team that includes therapists, NPs, and MDs to support coordinated clinical care for an inpatient population of approximately 250.

About the Clinician's Workday

The Licensed Clinical Social Worker will provide individual and group therapy to an adult male correctional population, addressing mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, anger management, substance use, stress management, and adjustment to incarceration. The clinician will complete clinical evaluations, psychosocial assessments, and screenings to develop individualized treatment plans, and will maintain accurate documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory requirements. Crisis intervention responsibilities include responding to behavioral health crises, conducting suicide risk assessments, and stabilizing individuals experiencing acute mental health concerns. The clinician will collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, case managers, correctional staff, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care and support reentry preparation.
