Location: Barbourville, KY 40906
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with one Saturday per month
Pay Rate: $17.00-$21.00 per hour (pay is dependent on experience)

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team in Barbourville, KY. This position supports both clinical and administrative functions, helping to ensure efficient patient flow and a positive patient experience. The ideal candidate will be collaborative, professional, and committed to providing high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments and coordinate follow-up visits.
• Answer incoming phone calls and regularly monitor voicemail messages.
• Check patients in and out while monitoring and maintaining efficient patient flow.
• Perform urine drug screens, obtain and document vital signs, and assist with patient evaluations.
• Call in patient medications as directed by the physician.
• Accurately enter and maintain patient information in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Submit prior authorizations to insurance companies and follow up as needed.
• Prepare daily financial summaries and balance payments received.
• Collect patient payments and verify insurance benefits.
• Review the Prescription Monitoring Database as directed.
• Provide patients with medication education and appropriate resource information.
• Support providers and the healthcare team with additional clinical and administrative duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience required.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Team player with a collaborative and professional approach.
• Dependable, reliable, and punctual.
• Compassionate and patient-focused.
• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
