Assistant Program Director - Family Medicine Residency
Location: Waterloo, Iowa
We are in search of a BC/BE Family Medicine physician to take on the role of Assistant Program Director for our well-established Family Medicine Residency Program in Waterloo, Iowa. This esteemed program has been dedicated to training family physicians for over 44 years and provides a fulfilling combination of teaching, clinical practice, and leadership without the pressure of RVUs.
Key Responsibilities- Instruct and guide residents in both inpatient and outpatient environments.
- Manage resident education and assess their performance.
- OB is optional.
- Office call is 1:4, supported by nurse triage.
- No hospital call required.
- Lead 1-2 quality improvement initiatives each year.
- Present 10-12 didactic lectures annually.
- Serve as an advisor to approximately 5 resident physicians.
Typical Weekly Schedule (Half Days):
- 4 days dedicated to patient care.
- 2-3 days staffing the resident clinic.
- 1 day for procedure clinic.
- 2 days for administrative tasks (1 of which is protected).
- 1 day for conferences.
- Salary-based compensation (no RVUs).
- Starting salary of $260,000 (or based on experience).
$100,000 commencement bonus.
$50,000 retention bonus (at the end of year 3).
Relocation assistance up to $15,000.

$6,000 CME allowance.
