Oncology Hospitalist - Boise Opportunity
Job Description
Join a physician-led multispecialty group comprising over 650 providers, where a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to patient care is at the forefront. The role of the Oncology Hospitalist involves overseeing the medical needs of patients receiving care within the Oncology service.
In this position, the Oncology Hospitalist collaborates closely with the outpatient Medical Oncologists at our Cancer Institute. A dedicated Oncology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) assists with documentation and manages calls from the inpatient floor. Typically, the service accommodates between 10 to 20 patients. For a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) Oncology Hospitalist, the expectation is to complete 182 shifts annually. Compensation includes a base salary, RVU production incentives, and a quality bonus component.
This full-time role features a schedule of 7 days on followed by 7 days off, complemented by comprehensive APP support. There are no on-call duties associated with this position.
Support: The dedicated 10-bed inpatient unit at our regional medical center in Boise is currently staffed by one additional Internal Medicine-trained hospitalist and two full-time APPs. The facility offers a complete range of medical and surgical subspecialties for consultation and support.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree;
- Completion of an accredited ACGME/AOA Internal Medicine residency program;
- Board certification or the ability to obtain certification within three years of employment through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the American Board of Physician Specialties (ABPS);
- Eligibility for Idaho medical licensure and privileges at our Boise facility;
- Current controlled substance registration with the Board of Pharmacy and DEA.
