Cardiothoracic Surgeon Opportunity

Our organization is on the lookout for a Board Eligible or Board Certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join a dynamic and high-volume practice in Des Moines, Iowa. The perfect candidate will bring enthusiasm, creativity, and a commitment to growth, contributing to one of the nation's premier cardiovascular centers.

Opportunity Highlights:
  • Currently, a team of 4 surgeons is seeking a 5th member to foster growth and innovation.
  • Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will handle first call duties, along with inpatient rounding and clinic support.
  • 24/7 intensivist support in the Cardiothoracic Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU).
  • Annual surgical case volume exceeds 1,000 procedures.
  • Chance to support and expand the Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) program.
  • Innovative practices in beating heart surgery, robotic heart surgery, minimally invasive valve surgery, ECMO, VAD, TAVR, and TEVAR.
  • Dedicated block time with 3 cardiovascular operating rooms, 1 hybrid room, and Da Vinci Xi/Si systems.
  • Utilization of EMR system EPIC.
  • Involvement in General Surgery Residency education.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Annual salary of $905,260.
  • Recruitment incentive of $150,000 and $6,000 for Continuing Medical Education (CME).
  • 5 weeks of annual time off (ATO).
  • Coverage for malpractice and tail insurance.
  • Benefits commence on the first day of employment.
  • 403(B) retirement plan with matching contributions.

We specialize in various fields including Cardiovascular Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Advanced Heart Failure, Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology, and General Cardiology.

We operate 8 primary locations and 15 outreach facilities throughout Iowa, performing over 10,000 cardiac interventions each year.
