Emergency Medicine Opportunity

Join our organization at a Level III Trauma Center, which handles approximately 35,000 patient visits annually. Our full-service hospital operates around the clock, featuring a comprehensive Hospitalist program, air medical and ambulance services, as well as advanced imaging capabilities including CT and MRI within the department. We also provide bedside ultrasound and point-of-use supplies in every room.

We ensure robust physician coverage with 42 hours of support each day. As a tertiary center, we have a network of over 300 physicians and specialists available to provide in-house care across various disciplines, including:

  • Trauma Surgery
  • Neurosurgery
  • Cardiology
  • Gastroenterology
  • ENT
  • Pediatric Hospitalists
  • OBGYN
  • Pulmonary/Critical Care
  • Neurology
  • Infectious Disease
  • Orthopedic Surgery
  • Vascular Surgery
  • Anesthesia
  • Radiology

Patient transfers are minimal, allowing you to practice at a single location. This role also offers teaching opportunities for residents, medical students, and PA/ARNP students.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a hospital-employed position, which comes with a comprehensive benefits package valued at over $65,000. The compensation structure includes:

  • Base salary:
    • $471,265 annually ($251/hour) for day shifts
    • $490,116 annually ($261.81/hour) for night shifts
  • Extra shift bonuses: $276.92/hour for day shifts; $301.09/hour for night shifts
  • A recruitment bonus of $100,000
  • Moving allowance up to $15,000
  • Full-time commitment of 1620 hours per year
  • Annual CME allowance of $6,000
  • Employer-covered liability insurance and tail coverage
  • Health, dental, vision, life, and short/long-term disability coverage starting from day one
  • 403(b) retirement plan with employer contributions and matching; optional 457(b) deferred compensation plan

Qualifications
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible (must achieve certification within three years of eligibility)
  • Completion of an Emergency Medicine Residency Program or Fellowship
  • H1B and J1 visa candidates are encouraged to apply
  • Graduation from an accredited medical or osteopathic school is required
  • Must hold or be eligible for a physician license in Iowa, including a Controlled Substance Certificate and Federal DEA Certificate
  • All offers are contingent upon successful completion of references, background checks, pre-employment physicals, and drug screenings
