EHS Manager (Chemical Manufacturer)Thomaston, GA | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PMWe're seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead compliance, safety initiatives, and environmental programs for a chemical manufacturing facility near Thomaston, GA.What You'll Do:
- Lead plant-wide EHS programs and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA (Federal & State), and GMP regulations.
- Conduct and manage internal, regulatory, customer, and third-party audits.
- Develop, review, and update Safety Data Sheets (SDS) using SDS management software.
- Create, revise, and implement environmental SOPs and safety procedures.
- Drive continuous improvement in plant health, safety, and environmental performance.
- Partner with leadership to promote a thriving safety culture and ensure regulatory compliance.
- 5–10 years of EHS leadership or supervisory experience in manufacturing (chemical manufacturing experience strongly preferred).
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience in an EHS role within chemical manufacturing will also be strongly considered.
- Hands-on audit experience with:
- OSHA-30
- EPA (Federal & State)
- GMP
- Customer Audits
- SMETA and/or Higg Index (preferred)
- Experience creating and maintaining Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Exceptional knowledge of environmental regulations, safety programs, and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities
Qualifications:
- 5–10 years of EHS leadership or supervisory experience in manufacturing (chemical manufacturing experience given strong preference)
- Experience in chemical manufacturing strongly preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or an EHS-related field preferred; equivalent chemical manufacturing EHS experience will also be strongly considered.
- Hands-on audit experience with:
- OSHA-30
- EPA (Federal & State)
- GMP
- Customer Audits
- SMETA and/or Higg Index (preferred)
- Experience creating and maintaining SDS documentation
- strong knowledge of environmental regulations, safety programs, and compliance requirements
- working in a smoke free environment
- wearing steel toe shoes
- working in a non-temperature controlled environment
- EHS Manager (4 years of experience is required)
