The Role

\n

Reporting into the Finance Director, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day finance function, ensuring the smooth operation of purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control activities.

\n

Key responsibilities include:

    \n
  • Processing customer and supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
  • \n
  • Maintaining purchase and sales ledger records
  • \n
  • Collecting monthly direct debit payments
  • \n
  • Allocating customer receipts and reconciling accounts
  • \n
  • Preparing supplier payment runs
  • \n
  • Managing credit control activities, including monitoring outstanding balances and chasing overdue payments
  • \n
  • Maintaining accurate customer and supplier account records
  • \n
  • Supporting month-end processes and the preparation of management accounts
  • \n
  • Processing financial data using the company's accounting system
  • \n
  • Managing the finance inbox and responding to customer and supplier enquiries
  • \n
  • Liaising with internal departments to resolve account queries
  • \n
  • Providing general administrative support to the finance team
  • \n

About You

\n

We're looking for someone who has:

\n
    \n
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role
  • \n
  • Experience working across purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control
  • \n
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent accuracy
  • \n
  • Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads
  • \n
  • Excellent numerical and problem-solving abilities
  • \n
  • Confident written and verbal communication skills
  • \n
  • Experience using accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • \n
  • The ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team
  • \n
  • A proactive, flexible and customer-focused approach
  • \n
  • The ability to handle confidential financial information with professionalism and discretion
  • \n
