Band 8c | £88,250 - £100,355 per annum | 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract | London

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Estates Engineering Lead (Electrical Bias Preferable) to join a large and complex NHS healthcare organisation. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant and efficient operation of critical electrical infrastructure across a diverse healthcare estate. The Role

\n

Reporting into the senior estates leadership team, you will provide professional engineering expertise and technical assurance across a substantial portfolio of healthcare facilities.

\n

You will lead on the management of electrical infrastructure, statutory compliance, planned maintenance programmes, engineering risk management and capital investment projects, ensuring services are delivered in line with NHS standards, HTMs, HBNs and relevant legislation.

\n

Key responsibilities will include:

\n
    \n
  • Providing technical leadership for electrical engineering services across the estate.
  • \n
  • Acting as the Trust's lead specialist for critical electrical infrastructure, including HV/LV systems, generators, UPS and associated plant.
  • \n
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, HTMs, NHS guidance and Health & Safety legislation.
  • \n
  • Managing engineering assurance, risk registers and compliance reporting.
  • \n
  • Supporting the delivery of planned preventative maintenance and lifecycle replacement programmes.
  • \n
  • Leading infrastructure upgrades, backlog maintenance schemes and capital projects.
  • \n
  • Working closely with contractors, project teams and operational estates staff to maintain safe and reliable services.
  • \n
  • Supporting energy efficiency, sustainability and decarbonisation initiatives.
  • \n
  • Producing performance reports, audits and compliance documentation for senior stakeholders.
  • \n

About You

\n

We are seeking a highly motivated estates professional with extensive experience managing engineering services within a complex healthcare, public sector or critical environment.

\n

You will possess:

\n

Essential

\n
    \n
  • Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.
  • \n
  • Significant experience within Estates and Facilities engineering environments.
  • \n
  • Extensive knowledge of:
  • \n
  • HTM guidance
  • \n
  • Electrical safety legislation
  • \n
  • Statutory compliance requirements
  • \n
  • Healthcare engineering standards
  • \n
  • Experience managing HV/LV electrical systems and critical infrastructure.
  • \n
  • Experience delivering engineering compliance and assurance programmes.
  • \n
  • Strong contractor and stakeholder management skills.
  • \n
  • Experience overseeing maintenance contracts, PPM and reactive maintenance services.
  • \n
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills.
  • \n

Desirable

\n
    \n
  • Authorised Person (AP) or Senior Authorised Person (SAP) status.
  • \n
  • NHS healthcare estates experience.
  • \n
  • Chartered Engineer or working towards professional registration.
  • \n
  • Experience of CAFM systems, backlog maintenance programmes and capital project delivery.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of energy management and decarbonisation initiatives.
