Home Manager - Supported Accommodation
Job Description
To provide effective, high-quality management to a residential supported accommodation setting for young people. The Home Manager ensures that all Ofsted, statutory, and regulatory standards are consistently met or exceeded, delivering tailored, high-level support aligned with each young person's individual needs. The post holder is responsible for maintaining an inclusive, anti-oppressive environment that actively promotes diversity, safeguards residents, and adheres strictly to the organisational policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:\n- \n

Ensure full compliance with Ofsted regulations, striving to meet or exceed statutory quality standards across all service areas.

Maintain, oversee, and continuously evaluate administrative systems, quality assurance processes, and data collation for reporting.
\n - \n
Ensure strict adherence to the organisational policies, procedures, Data Protection Act compliance, and professional code of conduct.
\n - \n
Oversee the day-to-day running and physical maintenance of the home to ensure a safe, clean, and healthy living environment.
\n - \n
Establish an inclusive, supportive, and anti-oppressive space that values diversity and respects the rights of young people.
\n - \n
Oversee referrals, support planning, risk assessments, and face-to-face casework, ensuring plans are regularly reviewed and updated.
\n - \n
Oversee the delivery of the Independent Living Programme, equipping young people with life skills, self-management, and risk awareness.
\n - \n
Take lead responsibility for ensuring all safeguarding and Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) concerns are addressed swiftly according to best practices.

Provide professional supervision, direction, and support to the team, fostering positive team dynamics and staff development. Develop, implement, and maintain effective 24/7 shift rotas to ensure continuous cover aligned with operational and young people's needs.

Participate in the out-of-hours management on-call rota to provide continuous 24/7 support to staff and residents.

Actively participate in management meetings, identifying personal and team training needs to maintain organisational excellence.

Build strong working relationships with commissioning bodies, social services, family members, and education/training providers.
\n - \n
Lead specific development initiatives within the organisation and stay up to date with legislative changes impacting young people.

Exercise sound financial probity and oversight of home expenses and budgets.

Requirements:
\n- \n
- Level 3 Diploma in Working with Children and Young People (or equivalent / willing to work towards). \n
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Care / Young People (or equivalent / willing to work towards). \n
- \n
- Senior-level experience working with young people (aged 16+) in a supported accommodation or residential setting. \n
- Demonstrable experience working within Ofsted regulatory frameworks. \n
- Supervising and managing care staff, including delivering staff inductions. \n
- Designing and managing risk assessment frameworks. \n
- Direct casework, conflict resolution, and multi-agency working with young people. \n
- Proven track record of commitment to anti-oppressive and anti-discriminatory practice. \n
- \n
- Deep understanding of young people's rights, safeguarding, and Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) best practices. \n
- Strong knowledge of current UK legislation affecting children and care-leavers. \n
- Comprehensive understanding of Ofsted regulations, Quality Standards, and safe working practices. \n
- Knowledge of modern leadership and personnel management protocols. \n

- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. \n
- Strong reflective, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. \n
- Ability to manage a complex, fast-paced workload independently. \n
- Comprehensive IT skills across administrative and recording software. \n
- Person-centred approach with a high degree of emotional intelligence. \n
- Ability to maintain clear professional boundaries under pressure. \n
