Our client is looking for a commercially minded Business Lead / General Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of a well-established pump service, maintenance and engineering business. You'll lead a team of office staff, workshop personnel and field service engineers whilst driving operational performance, customer satisfaction and business growth.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, leading people and making a genuine impact within a growing engineering organisation.

The Role

• Lead the day-to-day operations of a specialist pump engineering business.
\n
• Manage office staff, workshop personnel and field service engineers.
\n
• Drive operational performance, service delivery and customer satisfaction.
\n
• Take responsibility for budgets, profitability and overall business performance.
\n
• Develop existing customer relationships whilst identifying opportunities for growth.
\n
• Support business development and commercial activities.
\n
• Mentor, develop and motivate the existing team.
\n
• Ensure high standards of health & safety, quality and operational excellence.

You'll ideally have:

• Experience leading engineering or service teams.

• A background within pumps, rotating equipment, mechanical engineering, HVAC, industrial equipment or a related engineering sector.

• Commercial awareness with responsibility for budgets, profitability and operational performance.
\n
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
\n
• The ability to build lasting customer relationships and develop business opportunities.
\n
• A hands-on approach with a passion for leading engineering teams and driving continuous improvement.
