SEN Teaching Assistant - Independent Specialist School Salary: £26,200 - £27,900 | Full-time: 37.5 hours/weekLocation: Scunthorpe | Ofsted Rating: Good Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people? Our client, an independent specialist school in Scunthorpe, is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support students aged 11-16 with social, emotional, and mental health needs. Many pupils have EHCPs and benefit from tailored support for needs such as ADHD and ASD. The school provides a calm, structured, and nurturing environment for young people who have found mainstream education challenging, helping them re-engage with learning and achieve positive outcomes.What You'll Do\n

- Assist pupils with learning activities, adapting support to individual needs under teacher guidance. \n
- Support pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development using trauma-informed approaches. \n
- Help manage behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy and Staff Code of Conduct. \n
- Encourage pupil engagement, independence, and confidence in learning tasks. \n

- Experience supporting pupils in an educational or care setting. \n
- Experience working with pupils with SEND and complex needs. \n
- Awareness of safeguarding, behaviour management, and SEND principles. \n
- Ability to support teaching and learning effectively under supervision. \n
- Patience, empathy, adaptability, and a positive attitude. \n
